Separate known costs, current provider quotes, and planning estimates. Include airport transfers, baggage, local transport, taxes, insurance, connectivity, and the costs of changing a booking where relevant.
Keep a contingency instead of allocating every dollar to the first draft. A route that only works at its lowest estimate is not ready to book.
