← Europe Travel FAQ

Quick answer

What is the cheapest time to visit Europe?

Late autumn through early spring is often cheapest outside holiday weeks and winter resorts, with shoulder-season dates offering a better weather-price compromise.

November, parts of January and February, and early March can reduce lodging prices in many cities. Christmas and New Year, major events, and ski areas are important exceptions.

A cheap month is only useful if the trip still works. Check daylight, seasonal closures, ferry and mountain transport schedules, and rainfall before accepting a lower rate.
